Pour point and solidification point are important indicators used to describe the fluidity of liquids, especially oils, under low temperature conditions. They are all key parameters for measuring the low-temperature performance of oil products.

1、 Pour a little

Definition: Pour point refers to the lowest temperature at which an oil product can continue to flow under specified cooling conditions. When the temperature drops to a certain level, the oil becomes very viscous and cannot flow freely anymore. The highest temperature recorded at this time is the pour point of the oil product.

2. Meaning: The pour point reflects the ability of oil products to maintain fluidity in low-temperature environments. For industrial oils such as lubricants and fuels, understanding their pour point helps ensure that the equipment operates normally under cold conditions.

2、 Condensation point

1. Definition: Condensation point refers to the temperature at which an oil product cools under specific conditions to the point where solid crystallization begins or completely loses fluidity. Simply put, it is the critical temperature at which an oil product transitions from a liquid state to a solid state.

2. Significance: The condensation point is mainly used to evaluate the behavior of oil products under extreme low temperature conditions. If the pour point of the oil is too high, wax like sediment may form in extremely cold environments, blocking pipelines or filters and affecting normal use.

3、 The difference between the two

1. Liquidity: The pour point focuses on whether the oil can still flow at low temperatures, while the pour point focuses more on whether the oil has solidified.

2. Practical application: In practical applications, pour point is more commonly used because it directly affects whether the oil can continue to function in low-temperature environments, and pour point is usually used as reference data.
